May 13, 2018 — Good Afternoon Fellow Residents, Commuters and Supporters
1) THE PREMIER'S UNEXPECTED VISIT
Last Thursday the 10th of May 2018 Gladys Berejiklian dropped into Casula Mall for a Photo Opportunity with Member for Holsworthy Melania Gibbons.
ACCORDING TO THE PREMIER - IT'S BECAUSE OF MELANIE GIBBONS THAT SHE WILL BE DELIVERING MORE PARKING (NOTHING TO DO WITH Your 5700+ Signatures on the #MOREPARKINGNOW PETITION).
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she was proud of delivering the South West rail link for the booming areas of Edmondson Park and Leppington and confirmed the government would investigate opportunities to increase commuter parking.
“Now, of course, it’s a popular service and residents rely on that parking so I’ll be looking forward to delivering on (Ms Gibbon’s) request and she has advocated for that on a number of occasions.
I have to ask - Why can't Politicians Give Credit were Credit is due? At least acknowledge the effort that the community put into the Petition to get the politicians to sit up and take action in the first place.
Let's be frank the Premier's Whistle Stop / Photo Opportunity Visit was because of the Community Based and People Powered Petition plus the fact that the Labor Party have made an $18 million election Promise that the Premier is out in our area.
In my opinion - I don’t believe that the Premiers Decision has much to do with what her local MP may have done but that's Political Spin Doctoring for you.
2) CAR PARKING FINES
On the 1st of May 2018 Liverpool Council issued a letter to some Residents about illegal Parking on Footpaths in the Area.
Since then More Fines have been issued to Cars around the Station by both Council Rangers and Transit Police to illegally Parked Cars in the last couple of weeks. I guess that's one way to fix the Car Parking Crisis - Fine the People into submission so they no longer park around the Station and therefore there will no longer be a problem - A Conspiracy Theory Perhaps ?
3) LUKE FOLEY - TOWN HALL MEETING 17th May 2018
An opportunity to Ask more questions and Details Come along to a Community Town Hall hosted by Labor's Candidate for Holsworthy Charishma Kaliyanda with special guest Labor Leader Luke Foley. See Link for details
4) 2GB - OPEN LINE CALL and POSSIBLE Q & A with the Premier
On Thursday after the Premier was a Casula she was interviewed by Ben Fordham on 2GB - I managed to get thru on the open line and will hopefully be on a Q & A panel with the Premier in a couple of weeks.
5) MEETING WITH MINISTER CONFIRMED
I have a meeting confirmed with the Minister for Transport on the 22nd May 2018 at Parliament House in Sydney.
