55 Email to the Transport Minister and His Reply

Updated: Jul 10, 2021

Sept 14, 2018 —

Good morning Fellow Residents, Commuters and Petition Supporters WELCOME to the 500+ New PETITION Supporters from this week and it was great to see some of the Original Petition Supporters at the Stations during the Week.

You will see more of me at the Stations over the next few weeks as I will be asking you to a Sign a HARD COPY PETITION in addition to the Online Petition - More information to come.

As you know last Thursday on the 6th September I attended a NSW Planning Community Forum at Bringelly Community Hall.

After finding out that NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE REGARDING THE CAR PARKING CRISIS other than the announcement of funding for "Investigations" (read smokescreen to put the issue on the backburner) I ended up sending a 3 Page email the Transport and Infrastructure Minister Andrew Constance, an email to the 6 State MP'S and an email the Mayor’s of Liverpool, Campbelltown and Camden.

In addition to asking IF Mr Constance has A) checked the authenticity of the signatures on the Petition and is he satisfied with same and

B) Has he done the registration plate analysis regarding the home location of people parking at the Stations ? AS WAS DISCUSSED during our meeting on the 22nd May 2018.

MY QUESTIONS TO MINISTER CONSTANCE ON BEHALF OF THE COMMUNITY AFFECTED BY THE CAR PARKING CRISIS IN THE SOUTH WESTERN SUBURBS WERE AS FOLLOWS:-

1) CAN YOU PROVIDE A TIME FRAME FOR WHEN THE INVESTIGATIONS into to Car Parking Crisis at Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations will actually take place? (the next few months is not an acceptable answer)

2) CAN YOU PROVIDE INFORMATION on the Brief and Scope of the Investigation.

3) WILL the INVESTIGATION be Inhouse using Transport for NSW staff or external using outside Consultants.

4) If External Consultants are to be used - WILL The work be allocated OR will it go to Tender ?

I look forward to receiving your prompt reply - WHICH I DID RECEIVE PROMPTLY. THE REPLY FROM MARK COURE MP- Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure was short and sweet it basically said Get on your Bike, walk or catch a Bus. READ THE FULL REPLY BELOW :-

Dear Mr Andjelkovic

Thank you for your further correspondence to the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure about car parking at Edmondson Park and Leppington stations. The Minister asked me to respond on his behalf.

I note your ongoing interest in this issue and appreciate the reasons that prompted you to write.

As you are aware, the NSW Government is investigating options to further improve the public transport network in Leppington and Edmondson Park. As part of this, we are exploring land use, and bus, pedestrian and cycle networks in these areas.

These investigations will help inform future plans to improve access to Leppington and Edmondson Park stations. The investigations are in their early stages and the community will be informed as more information becomes available.

Thank you for taking the time to write to the Minister.

Yours sincerely

Mark Coure MP Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure

SO THE CAR PARKING CRISIS CAMPAIGN CONTINUES AND WITH YOUR HELP I AM SURE WILL BE SUCCESSFUL it will just take a bit more time.

THE ACTION PLAN going forward is pretty simple for Now - Just keep sharing the posts from my Facebook Page www.facebook.com/Michael.Independent/ together with the Video clips and the Petition link on Social media regularly so we can hit 10,000 signatures ONLINE.

YOU CAN ALSO SHARE THE UPDATES FORWARD the emails to your friends

I will be asking you to do a few simple things in the future like signing a HARD COPY PAPER PETITION., sending some emails, handing out flyers / doing letterbox drops in your neighborhood.

I will continue working on gaining more media coverage via the local papers, Talk back Radio and TV SO I NEED YOUR PERSONAL STORIES to be able to share and generate further interest in the Car Parking Crisis from your perspective not just mine.

Let's get the Campaign back on track and hopefully get a commitment from BOTH major political parties to build multi level carparks at Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations.

Yours sincerely

Michael Andjelkovic JP Community Campaigner for the Greater Liverpool Area
