58 Leppington Primary School Issues

Updated: Jul 8, 2021

Sept 21, 2018 —

Good Afternoon School Parents, Fellow Residents and Petition Supporters

As you are probably quite well aware by now Camden Council put up new Parking Signs opposite the School.

A Win for the School community but a loss of 20 Car Parking Spots for the Commuters.

I have to say that I am two minds about this latest development and the one thing that I have to say is that in my opinion it is just a bandaid solution to an ongoing problem - it is treating the symptom NOT THE CAUSE.

I do congratulate Camden Council for being proactive to try and help the School community but we all know that the cause of the problems in the area is the lack of Parking Spaces in and around the Station.

I will be sending an email to the Council and the local MP asking them to Contact the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure  again and ask for a Temporary Carpark to be provided the Government land on the Corner of Rickard and Byron Roads OR any other land that the government owns in the area URGENTLY.

Email Camden Council at mail@camden.nsw.gov.au

Also email the local MP Chris Patterson at Camden@parliament.nsw.gov.au

The new signs don't address the core issue and speaking with Parents at the School yesterday there is still a concern for the Children's Safety when they are dropped off in the Mornings and picked up in the Afternoons.

I hope you will send an email also and ask ALL school parents to sign the Petition.

I will also send another email to the Education Minister about the issue and request his support in this matter.

Thank you

Michael Andjelkovic JP

Good Afternoon School Parents, Fellow Residents and Petition Supporters

This is my email regarding the new signs that were put up opposite the School.

If you like you can use it as a template or simply copy and paste it with the message - When it comes to the Car Parking Crisis - Michael Andjelkovic speaks for me.

EMAIL Camden@Parliament.nsw.gov.au and mail@camden.nsw.gov.au

You have to google Rob Stokes education minister for his webpage email

Good Morning  Minister, Patterson, Mr Stokes, Mr Warren, Mayor Sidgreaves and Councillors

I am writing to you regarding the New Parking Signs erected opposite Leppington Primary School last Thursday which have obviously been erected to try and alleviate the ongoing Traffic Chaos in front of Leppington Primary School.

As you are aware I have been running a Petition regarding the Car Parking Crisis at Leppington and Edmondson Park Stations calling for the NSW State Government to provide Multi Level Carparks at Leppington (and Edmondson Park) Stations which now has over 6700signatures and you may not be aware of a smaller Petition that I started specifically for Leppington Primary School which only has 275 Signatures, but then it is quite specific.

While this latest development is a Win for the School community it is also a loss of 20 Car Parking Spots for the Commuters using Leppington Station.

I have to say that I am in two minds about this latest development and the one thing that I have to say is that in my opinion it is just a BANDAID solution to an ongoing problem - it is treating the symptom NOT THE CAUSE.

I do congratulate Camden Council for being proactive to try and help the School community but we all know that the cause of the problems in the area is the lack of Parking Spaces in and around Leppington Station.

Mr Patterson as the current Local MP for Camden I urge you to Contact the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure again and ask for a Temporary Carpark to be provided the Government land on the Corner of Rickard and Byron Roads OR any other land that the government owns in the area as a matter of URGENCY.

Mr Patterson, I would also invite you to meet with the School P&C to discuss the concerns of the Parents which include that a Child or Parent might be killed or injured as a result of the Traffic Chaos, A view has been expressed to me by parents for the School personally, on camera and even in the Nine News report aired recently.

I would also Call on Camden Council and the Minister for Education to also write to the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure requesting the provision of Temporary Parking on Government owned land and thecommitment to build Multi Level Car Parks at the Station.

The new signs don't address the core issue and speaking with Parents at the School last week there is still a concern for the Children's Safety when they are dropped off in the Mornings and picked up in the Afternoons.

I look forward to your support on this Matter and in Solving The Car Parking Crisis at the Stations by having Multi Level Car Parks Constructed.
